Masters and Mentors Youth Enrichment Strategies (YES), Inc. exists to empower at-risk and justice-involved youth by combining mentorship, cognitive behavioral interventions, and the discipline of chess. Through this unique model, we aim to transform lives, reduceincarceration, strengthen families, and create opportunities for long-term success.

A Founder Who’s Walked the Walk
Our founder has “been there, done that.” Having lived through the struggles of the justice system, he knows firsthand what it’s like to face the odds and come out stronger. This lived experience isn’t just a backstory—it’s the foundation of a program designed to be real, practical, and built for change. Youth see someone who’s walked in their shoes, proving that transformation is possible and inspiring them to believe in their own potential.
Life is Chess, Not Checkers: Making Smart Moves
We use chess as more than just a game—it’s a blueprint for life. Chess teaches youth to think ahead, strategize, and calculate their moves, turning impulsive decisions into deliberate actions.
